Meet Your Coach
I understand the struggle when it comes to finding the right place to train and the time to train.
Will first started swim teaching 21 years ago in Kells Swimming club, in Ireland, where he was the Club Captain and swam competitively for his club and school, in galas across Ireland. In 2010, Will graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in PE, Sport, and Dance with QTS from Liverpool John Moores University. In his time in Liverpool, he was a Trainer Assessor for both the Pool and Beach Lifeguard Qualification for the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS) and also worked for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI).
Will has extensive experience in Learn to Swim programs and Squad programs too but thrives off teaching adults due to their complexity and challenges that present themselves to him. As a PE teacher, and having studied pedagogy, sports psychology and physiology as part of his degree and swimming at a high level as a child and teenager, Will firmly believes that he can maximize the potential of every child, adolescent, and adult that he teaches.
Will understands that every swimmer develops at a different rate and learns differently, therefore he personalizes and adapts his coaching styles, and uses different ways to educate and improve his swimmers. Will sets realistic and individual targets for his swimmers, which are achievable through hard work, which improves self-confidence and also teaches them that with hard work and dedication you can achieve your goals.
